Perfection looks beyond simply “what is in the food” to consider how well the nutrition can be digested and used by the body.

Every ingredient we use is human-grade. We disclose 100% of the ingredients and formulate without by-products, ingredients used simply for bulk, synthetic preservatives, artificial colors or thickeners.

Perfection is designed for all breeds and all life stages, from puppies to seniors, with digestibility of over 90%.

Ingredient quality, nutritional balance and digestibility all matter. Because this is everyday food, we do not believe one of those should come at the expense of the others.

Perfection provides at least 24% crude protein, comfortably meeting AAFCO’s standard for adult maintenance.

There are foods on the market with even higher protein levels, but research published in a journal of the American Society of Animal Science has not shown that dramatically increasing crude protein automatically leads to superior nutritional outcomes. The same study also reported lower digestibility of fat, carbohydrates and energy on higher-protein diets.

What matters is not simply the size of the number, but the ingredients that supply the protein and the balance of the diet as a whole. Perfection uses quality human-grade meat and fish and does not add meat meals or dried meat powders simply to compete on protein percentage.

Fat is an essential nutrient and an important source of energy for daily activity. Perfection is formulated with at least 18% crude fat to provide the energy needed for an active everyday life.

As concerns such as wheat allergies gained attention, marketing increasingly promoted the idea that “grain-free means healthier” or that a premium food had to be grain-free.

But grains themselves are not inherently the problem. Perfection uses selected grains such as brown rice, pearl barley and oatmeal for their nutritional value and the specific roles they play in the formula.

Oatmeal is a grain made from oats that have been processed for easier eating.

While it may be less familiar in some diets, oats are widely eaten in North America and Europe as cereal or porridge. They are also naturally rich in dietary fiber.

Sodium and chloride are essential nutrients involved in fluid balance and normal nerve and muscle function.

Perfection uses sea salt as part of its mineral and nutritional design—not simply as seasoning.

Digestion is the process of breaking food down into nutrients the body can use.

Ingredients differ in both nutrient composition and digestibility. By balancing those ingredients carefully, Perfection is formulated for both nutritional balance and high digestibility.

Digestibility is calculated from the nutrients consumed and the nutrients excreted in feces, with endogenous losses accounted for to estimate how much nutrition was actually absorbed by the body.

Perfection’s digestibility is over 90%. We consider not only how much goes into the bowl, but how much the body can make use of.

Yes. We believe it should be.

But the point is not simply to say “100% disclosed.” What matters is understanding what each ingredient is and why it is used.

Is it there for nutrition? For bulk? Preservation? Texture? Or to artificially standardize color or aroma?

Perfection discloses every ingredient and formulates each one with a reason for being there.

We want owners to be able to see for themselves what their dogs eat every day.

No. Perfection does not use by-products.

That does not mean every by-product is inherently a poor ingredient. Some organs, for example, can be highly nutritious.

However, the term “by-product” can cover parts that are not normally sold as human food, and the label alone may not tell you which parts were used or how they were handled. Properly managed by-products certainly exist, but the category can be ambiguous.

Perfection avoids that ambiguity by using ingredients handled to human-food standards.

Dry foods can look remarkably similar from the outside.

Inside, however, there can be major differences in the quality of meat and fish, formula composition, nutrient density, preservation methods and the use of additives.

Quality ingredients naturally cost more.

Perfection does not lower ingredient quality or rely on ingredients used simply to add bulk in order to make the product cheaper.

Yes. Perfection is designed for all life stages and all breeds.

We do not believe that growing older means the quality of nutrition should decline.

People do not stop needing quality protein, fats, vitamins and minerals simply because they age. The same principle applies to dogs.

Energy needs can decline as activity changes with age, but adjusting calories is different from lowering nutritional quality. Feeding amount can be adjusted according to body weight, activity and body condition.

Perfection already includes quality protein and fat along with glucosamine, chondroitin and omega-3 fatty acids—nutrients many owners want to continue providing as dogs age.

Rather than dividing nutrition by age alone, we adjust the amount to the individual dog. That is what “all life stages” means to us.

Yes. All three recipes are balanced to the same core guaranteed analysis.

The primary meat or fish is different, so each recipe still has its own nutritional character and flavor.

Chicken provides quality protein and essential amino acids; pork naturally contains B vitamins, iron and zinc; salmon provides marine omega-3 fatty acids including DHA and EPA.

Because the nutritional foundation is consistent, it is easy to choose by preference or rotate recipes over time.

“More fat” does not automatically mean “weight gain.”

What matters is the total energy of the food and how much the dog actually eats—not fat percentage in isolation.

Perfection provides 370 kcal per 100 g and is designed as a balance of protein, fat, vitamins and minerals. Adjust the feeding amount for weight, age, activity and body condition.

Perfection uses the term “human-grade” to mean ingredients of a quality handled for human food.

We do not lower the ingredient standard simply because the food is for dogs. The quality of the raw materials themselves matters.

We use wild salmon, and the chicken and pork come from food animals raised with close attention to their feeding and production standards.

A reaction after eating a food labeled “chicken” does not always prove that chicken itself was the cause.

Depending on the product, a chicken food may also contain chicken meal, flavorings, multiple other ingredients, bulking ingredients or thickeners. Similar symptoms can also come from another ingredient or from food intolerance rather than an allergy.

Perfection uses human-grade ingredients and discloses 100% of the formula so owners can see exactly what is being fed.

However, if your dog has a confirmed chicken allergy, avoid the Chicken recipe. Review the full ingredient lists of Pork and Salmon with your veterinarian as appropriate.

Pork is a nutritious source of quality protein and fat and naturally provides B vitamins, iron and zinc.

Perfection uses pork from animals raised for human food with close attention to feeding and production standards.

It also offers a distinctly rich, savory flavor compared with Chicken or Salmon.

Prebiotics are compounds that serve as “food” for beneficial bacteria already living in the gut. FOS (oligosaccharides) is one example used in Perfection.

Probiotics refer to beneficial microorganisms or, in this formula, useful fermentation-derived components. Perfection uses dried fermentation products.

One nourishes beneficial bacteria; the other provides components derived from useful microorganisms. Together they are part of a formula designed with everyday digestion and gut health in mind.

As shown on the ingredient list, Pork uses pork fat, Chicken uses chicken fat, and the formulas also include fish oil and other lipid sources.

Fat is more than a source of calories. It plays important roles in energy supply, essential fatty acids and palatability, so each fat source is included with a purpose.

For a dog prone to weight gain, the important point is not simply switching to a “low-fat” food, but managing the amount eaten according to the dog’s daily energy requirement.

The goal is appropriate portions without unnecessarily lowering nutritional quality—the same principle we use when feeding many senior dogs.

First, consider your dog’s overall condition. Heat, changes in weather or changes in environment can affect appetite.

If your dog otherwise seems well, also review treats and snacks. Too many extras can reduce appetite for the main diet and displace needed nutrition.

If poor appetite continues or your dog seems unwell or less energetic, consult your veterinarian.

A sudden change in diet can temporarily change stool quality.

When moving from the current food to Perfection, begin with a small amount mixed in and gradually increase the Perfection portion over about 7–10 days.

If diarrhea continues, or if energy or appetite declines, stop using the food and consult your veterinarian.

A stronger fish odor does not necessarily mean higher salmon quality or greater nutritional value.

Perfection is a dry food with no more than 10% moisture, so the aroma of the raw ingredient may be much less noticeable to the human nose than fresh fish.

We judge the Salmon recipe by the ingredients and nutritional design—not by how strongly it smells.

If your dog has urinary stones, another diagnosed condition, or is currently under treatment, consult your veterinarian before feeding.
